Recycling is Mandatory for All Generators (Commercial and Residential)
Town of Southbridge Board of Health Code of
Regulations Chapter 2: § 5.2.1 and 6.1.2 states: “Recycling of paper,
cardboard, glass bottles, cans, and all single polymer plastics is mandatory.” “These
regulations were promulgated under the provisions of Chapter 111, Sections 31,
31A, 31B, 122, and 150A of the Massachusetts General Laws, in compliance with
Massachusetts state Waste Bans (310 CMR 19.017), and help further the goals of
the Town of Southbridge to promote waste reduction.”
Beginning NOVEMBER 1, 2022
TEXTILES WILL BE BANNED FROM DISPOSAL IN MASSACHUSETTS!
DO NOT PUT TEXTILES IN THE TRASH OR RECYCLING TOTERS!
Textiles include: clean/dry clothing (stained is ok), footwear, bedding, towels, curtains, fabric, and similar products.
The Town of Southbridge, through Casella, provides residents with weekly curbside collection of true trash, biweekly collection of Single Stream, ZeroSort recycling, scheduled bulk waste, seasonal collection of yard waste and quarterly Household Hazardous Waste Days.
