Dresser Street Bridge Rehabilitation

Partial closure of Dresser Street will require detours

Work will begin soon on the bridge carrying Dresser Street over Nuisance Brook. The work involves the replacement of the bridge deck, repairs to the abutments, new catch basins, repaving, and other related improvements.

Starting on October 3, 2018, Dresser Street will be closed to all vehicular traffic between Cole Ave and Orchard Street. All driveways will remain accessible. All through traffic traveling westbound on Dresser Street will be detoured north on Marcy Street, then west on Main Street, then west on South Street, ending at Sayles Street. All through traffic traveling eastbound on Dresser Street will be detoured north on Orchard Street, then east on South Street, then East on Main Street, then South on Marcy Street, ending on Dresser Street. Pedestrian traffic will be routed through McMahon Field.

The duration of bridge construction is expected to be about two months, with final paving occurring in Spring 2019.
