Mask Mandate in Southbridge Public Buildings Effective 9/22/21

Good afternoon,

Today, several town employees tested positive for COVID-19 and several other symptomatic employees were sent for testing.  Because of this, and because of increased case numbers and below average vaccination rates in the Town, and after discussing this situation with our Health Director, Mr. Pelletier, out of an abundance of caution for staff, residents, and visitors, I have asked Mr. Pelletier to implement a mask mandate in all town buildings.  Given the timing of this decision, we agreed to make the mask mandate effective Wednesday, September 22 at 8:00 am.  Mr. Pelletier and I will continue to monitor the internal case counts, as well as the town's overall case and vaccination rates and keep you apprised of any changes.

Again, these actions are being done out of an abundance of caution to protect the health and safety of Southbridge's employees, residents and visitors.

If you have any questions, please do hesitate to contact me or Mr. Pelletier.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Regards,

Michael F. McCall

Town Manager
