Position Available - Adult Services Librarian

JACOB EDWARDS LIBRARY  Adult Services Librarian (L/S-3)

The Town of Southbridge seeks a dynamic and enthusiastic Adult Services Librarian for the Jacob Edwards Library.  This is a key position in charge of and involved with the daily operation and the ongoing programming of the Adult and Teen Department and coordinating the Library along with the Library Director and Children’s Librarian. This position supervises a staff and the library operations structure. 

The work involves providing reference services and information instruction; preparing and implementing programming for adults and teens; maintaining and managing the library collection; strong communication skills; ability to prepare and track materials budget and staff shifts at the circulation desk.

Ideal candidate would also have strong technology skills; expertise with website coding and management, social media and digital delivery. Ability to troubleshoot library computer and systems issues. 

Master's Degree in Library Science and a minimum of 3 years of library experience preferred.  Experience working with an intergenerational population. Experience with Evergreen Integrated Library System (ILS) an advantage.  Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.  Schedule includes evening shifts and Saturdays as per the needs of the Department.    

The salary for this full-time benefit eligible, 37.5 hour per week position begins at $49,527.
