CDBG Project Coordinator
As a mini-entitlement community that receives Community Development Block Grant funding from the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development, the Town of Southbridge is seeking a full-time CDBG Coordinator.
The CDBG Coordinator works under the direction of the Economic Development & Planning Director, and is responsible for strict compliance with federal and state regulations in grant preparation and submission, vendor procurement, and timely financial management. The CDBG Coordinator is responsible for developing and managing CDBG-funded community development projects involving: commercial rehabilitation, public infrastructure upgrades, municipal inspections, social program funding, and housing rehabilitation. The CDBG Coordinator is required to utilize Intelligrants (DHCD’s online Grant Management system) to submit and administer CDBG grants.
The successful candidate must thrive working on teams and be adept at multi-tasking, meeting competing deadlines, and juggling changing priorities. Must be able to interact with members of the public, wide array of professional service providers, other municipal departments, and Town and State officials with high level of tact and professionalism.
Bachelor’s Degree in Public or Business Administration, Accounting, or closely related field is required, and three to five years of responsible experience in administering Federal and/or State municipal grants (CDBG experience strongly preferred), or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
