OPERATIONS MANAGER (P/T-9)
The Town of Southbridge, Department of Public Works, is seeking qualified candidates for the Operations Manager position. This position is responsible for the daily management of and operations of the Department of Public Works. The Operations Manager must be familiar with all facets of a public works department, and in a participatory manner must be able to coordinate personnel and resources in order to complete assigned tasks efficiently. Must exercise a leadership role in all department activities. Participates in planning for the department. Coordinates all snow and ice operations.
Must have and maintain a valid Massachusetts Class B CDL license with air brakes or better and HazMat Tank endorsement. Demonstrated ability and appropriate licenses to operate backhoe, loader, etc. not mandatory but preference will be given to applicants possessing the said abilities and licenses. Valid 2B, 1C, 3A and 4A licenses preferred and/or required to be obtained within 6 months of appointment. A Massachusetts Pesticide certification and Massachusetts Applicator’s license preferred.
This is a full time, 37.5 hours, salaried position. Salary range begins at $81,898 per year.
Associate’s Degree in a related field; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Five (5) to seven (7) years of public works operational management experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
